Manapparai Murukku is made from locally grown raw rice and fried in groundnut oil. They are fried using the double fry technique.
This lengthy process starts from getting good-quality raw rice. It is soaked in water for 1-2 hours and drains all water from it. It dried under the shadow, spreads on clean cotton cloth. This dried rice grind is in a stone grinder. In order to get a traditional taste, this process is mandatory.
